with the line marked on the back of the timber to cut, if it is a tall moulding like skirting board i place it on the mitre saw so the face is against the fence away from me and cut it from the back, where i can see the pencil line i am cutting to.

impressed with this mitre box, it is really big and plenty enough space to fit tall skirting boards in. it cuts 90, 45 and 60 degree angles. on the most part it works really well, but the grooves for the saw blade are only made of plastic and so you do sometimes find the saw cutting into these rather than following the groove. it could have done with a metal inlay to avoid this. its not the
